1. Upcoming and Important Tax Due Dates:
A. 6/15/22: Due date for federal and state estimated tax payments (if required to) along with NYS Pass through Entity Tax Estimated Payments (PTET, only if you made the ptet election).
B. 6/21/22: Due date for quarterly and monthly filers of NYS Sales Tax.
2. Important Message for Recipients of Unemployment during the pandemic:
A. If you received NYS unemployment during the 2020 and/or 2021 tax year, received the extra pandemic unemployment assistance (i.e. extra $600 a week in 2020 and extra $400 week in 2021), you could potentially receive a notice from NYS requesting backup support to show that you were unemployed at the time. It is recommended that you respond to this notice quite simply by filling out the form as requested and attach supporting documentation proving you didn’t work (i.e. bank statements during the time period showing proof of unemployment, 1099-k, if self-employed, showing no receipts received during those months that unemployment was claimed).
3. Important message for all individual filers:
A. If you are on extension and we have not filed your tax return, due to missing information, please send over the missing information in order to finish and file your tax return!
